I knew I remembered presidents inviting senators from the opposite party to movie screenings. The Harkin-Bush anecdote is fresher in mind because I teach it every year. But I think this use of the trappings of the office is fairly common. It's just baffling to see a president ignore the other party with this stuff when he's got a 1 vote margin in the House. I'd have Henry Cuellar and Vicente Gonzalez up there, Jared Golden, etc.
