This week’s roundup of 14 links includes the must read of the week from Politico on how Democrats have turbocharged their margins in college towns — with dramatic ramifications.

There are also several pieces on voting rights, and political process matters. While these can seem arcane or technical, they may be the most important news in terms of shaping the future of American democracy. Increasingly, as we polarize and as Republicans face demographic problems, namely that they struggle with young voters, they are trying to maintain their political viability by making it harder for Democratic constituencies to vote. They’re also trying to rig the system, so they can maintain and maximize power, without necessary achieving majority support.
